I had such a fun time planning and creating Makenzie’s 1st birthday party. I’ve never thought of myself as a very crafty person so thank goodness for Pinterest and all the ideas I got from there.
It’s so hard to believe that she is 1 year old (well almost, she’ll be one this Friday, the 16th). I remember when she was first born thinking how far away August 2013 seemed but looking back now it’s like I blinked and she turned 1.
Makenzie is so loved by all the people around her, that is very apparent. Her godparents, Jen and Ryan, let us host the birthday party at their house and Jen made her yummy pasta salad that accompanied the deli sandwiches on croissants that we had. Her Grammy Kopecko made a ramen noodle salad that was requested by me, I love it, and her Uncle Scott made an incredible caprese salad with a twist, corn! Whenever Scott makes anything, the rest of the family can be caught saying “so good” because his chef skills are just that.
As appetizers I made individual pizzas by slicing french bread and covering them with various toppings. We had red sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil as one. Red sauce, fresh mozzarella, pepperoni and mushroom as another. Lastly, we had pesto with fresh mozzarella and Roma tomatoes. Those pizzas were a hit and each and every one of them was gobbled down. Grandma Streblow made an incredibly yummy veggie pizza and my Aunt Tammy made her famous chicken wings.
For the sweet tooth lovers in the family (everyone) I made pink lemonade cake pops and chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting and pink lemonade frosting. For Makenzie, I made a chocolate smash cake with pink ombre vanilla icing. Makenzie’s Great Grandma Seering also made her famous Apple Squares.
To wash down all this wonderful food we had (adult) lemonade served in mason jars with colored pink and yellow paper straws, Leinenkugel’s variety pack of beer, miller lite, soda, water, and the kids had small individual lemonade juice boxes.
We had such a wonderful time and we want to thank our family for all the generosity they showed in both gifts and love on her special day.
Here are some great pictures that were captured from the day:

A gift from Uncle Scott. He sponge painted the purple and drew and hand painted the letters amongst other things. So beautiful!
It was a great birthday party and I was so happy to be there.
Loved all the pics of Makenzie and all her guests! Great shots of everyone. FUN DAY!!
